German Food Berlin

Where to go to get the best German food in Berlin? We have made a list of cool places to go in Berlin, read and enjoy!

1.Blutwurstmanufaktur

This is a traditional butcher, if you like meat and sausages go here to experience the true nature of the German meat  culture…. They do lunch too, traditional food, meat! For small prices! This place is famous for its traditional black pudding. High quality!  This is really a nice experience! But nothing for you if you are a vegetarian!

2. Chez Gino

Kind of kitschy modern deco, nice ambient and friendly service. Located in the vivid WranglerKiez which is really worth a visit if you are in Kreuzberg!

They serve really nice Swabian food like for instance Flammkuchen! Also, as a big fan of Spätzle, I could really recommend their Käse-Spätzle (spätzle with cheese).

3. Weihenstephaner

this restaurant is located in the oldest building in Berlins central neighborhood, Mitte. The house was built in 1749! The place is famous for its authentic historical atmosphere, they serve Bavarian food and the service team is really friendly.

The restaurant is at the hackescher markt, so it is really easy to reach from our Hostel:  neue Promenade 5, Am Hackeschen Markt.

4. Gugelhof

Kind of chic but not too expensive! This restaurant located on the famous Kollwitzplatz, in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg, is a culinary oasis. They serve for food from  between the rivers Rhine, Moselle and Saar and it flourishes because the Alsatians like to eat well and due to external influences they are able to improve and to maintain their culinary level. Make sure to reserve a table here, otherwise you may get disappointed.

5.  Cafe-Restaurant Louis

Go here if you want to taste real traditional german-austrian food! They probably serve the biggest SCHNITZEL in town! So make sure you are really hungry when you go there!

Location: Richardplatz 5 (Berlin-Neukölln)

6.  Schneeweiscschen und Rosenrot

Go here if you want to try modern German food. What to expect? High quality products, German/Italian fusion dishes, and the best service in town!

And: East seven guest can get a 10% discount, ask for it at the reception!

7. Schneeweiss

Good service in general, high quality, honest food and very reasonably priced. It is a bit trendy, but that´s cool! Some of the dishes they serve are schnitzel, risotto and steak. In the weekend they also have a fantastic breakfast-buffet.

8. The Spätzle-Express

if you like Spätzle this is  the place for you!  Big servings for little money!

Also a great option for vegetarian people!

9.  Zum Schusterjunge

Our all time favorite German restaurant, located within walking distance from the EastSeven Berlin Hostel. Traditional German food in a nice environment!

This is the place to grab a quick bite, try the typical traditional German food, you will like it!

10. Hofbraeuhaus Berlin

The Hofbräu in Berlin is quite new in Berlin. They opened their doors in November 2011. You should go here if you are looking for true Bavarian spirit!

The staff is wearing the traditional Bavarian clothing, the girls wear DIRNDLS and the guys LEDERHOSEN. You should try the original Hofbräu Beers and their Bavarian specialities.

There is live music too, and located at Alexanderplatz, it is easy to reach from the EastSeven Hostel!

Im Dunkeln ist gut munkeln: Top 10 Ausgehtips Berlin

party in Berlin

party in Berlin

Entfernung vom Hostel in Prenzlauer Berg: 7 Gehwegminuten
2) Weinerei
Entfernung vom Hostel: 3 Gehwegminuten
Entfernung vom Hostel: 20 Gehwegminuten

Wer will schon freiwillig Tramfahren?

In the famous shopping-street Kastanienallee, dubbed casting allee by Berlin residents,  there are lots of cool shops. Some with designer clothes, vintage furniture, souvenirs etc.etc.  Go there for a stroll to see some beautiful people and for shopping of course!
The surrounding streets are also good for shopping. We will discuss some cool vintage, secondhand, souvenir and fashion stores in this blog.

Here is our TOP 5:
1. Kauf Dich Glüklich
this shop is a bit different from regular shops, cause it is not actually a real shop. It is a cafe selling
the best waffles in town!! Hmm then why is it on the list of best  shops, you
might wonder…. Thatʼs because almost everything inside the cafe is for sale. So if you like
the seat you are sitting on, or the artwork on the wall, you can buy it and take it home with
you. The name of the shop translated in to English means as much as buy yourself happy.

2. O3-shop
They sell everything from earrings, to postcards, from souvenirs to unique designed clothes…anything you can imagine. All made by different Designers. The shop has a  gallery, a small factory, a seminar room and a lovely garden.
It´s really worthwhile taking a closer look inside this cozy shop in the Oderberger strasse.

3.Stiefelkombinat
Shoes, shoes and more shoes! This is one of the coolest vintage-shops in Berlin. They sell over thousands of secondhand shoes and have an exclusive selection of furniture & clothes from the 40´s till the 80´s.
Check it out for yourselves!

4. Heimzucht

this cozy store in the Danzigerstrasse 10 is famous for its  Berlin design, street wear, vintage  & elegance!

The friendly and honest service makes it a true and nice shopping experience! Berlin Stars shop here, so should you!

5. Made in Berlin
this is probably the most famous second hand shop Berlin knows. It has a broad variety of
cool vintage clothes, both for females and males! The shop is quite big, so make sure to take enough time and check it out thoroughly!
You find this shop at the neue schönhauser strasse 19.

Have fun shopping in Berlin! For more inspiration just check out our youtube-video to get an even better impression. And of course feel free to ask our staff at the reception where to find these fine shops!
