When I moved to Berlin I was young, stupid (and extremely good looking). I didn’t know anything about life and even less about cooking. I knew water was somehow involved in the process but that was it. I didn’t know if you boil the water first or to add it at the end. I relied deeply on places like Shannghai Imbiss to keep me alive. I still love this place. It hasn’t changed a lot. The patrons are friendly as ever and the food is cheap and definitely not worse than in some fancier places.
